The very first MATE Red Sea ROV Competition in Saudi Arabia happened in March 2023! Six Scout and two Ranger teams competed as part of the MATE ROV COMPETITION network. The Reef Rovers team from The KAUST School, mentored by the RISC Lab members Nawaf Alotaibi and Majef Al Shamrani, won the first prize in the Ranger class.

Research Open Week is a unique forum for a broader discussion providing networking opportunities to faculty, research staff, and colleagues from industry and government entities. National and International experts from leading organizations in the areas of energy, water, environment, food and health, and the digital domain.

Following the SRSI program from last August, the RISC Lab welcomed the two SRSI Students back, Maria Qumsani and Bandar AlBraheem, for a one-week internship under the supervision of the RISC Lab faculty: Prof. Eric Feron.

KAUST Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Eric Feron received two best paper awards at this year’s 41st American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA)/Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Digital Avionics Systems Conference (DASC 2022).
Professor Shinkyu Park has been awarded the 2022 O. Hugo Schuck Best Paper Award (Theory) from the American Automatic Control Council (AACC) for his paper investigating a new mathematical framework to study decision making in multi-agent systems.
